ui docici piani 201 camere e suite e l’Opera Suite il quale, con
tre camere da letto, accoglie fno a sei persone in ambienti
di gran lusso. Il Club Millesime all’ultimo piano, con grandi
vetrate e vista mozzafato sulla città e sul fume Mekong e Tonle
Sap, è riservato a chi soggiorna sugli ultimi tre piani: un’oasi di
eleganza per la prima colazione, pasti leggeri durante il giorno o
per rilassarsi al tramonto sorseggiando un aperitivo e assaporando
sfziozi amuse-bouches. Il tramonto si gode splendidamente
anche dal Lobby Bar nel grande atrio di marmo color cappuccino,
e dalle camere e suite che guardono la città (per l’alba scegliere
quelle con vista fume).
Numerose le camere e suite comunicanti per famiglie e
piaceranno, soprattutto ai più romantici, i regolatori di luminosità
che permettono di creare ambienti con sofuse mezze tinte.
Niente balconi per le undici Prestige Suite ma, essendo agli
angoli del palazzo, hanno le viste più belle e anche il servizio
maggiordomo.
A pranzo e cena gli amanti della buona cucina si troveranno
tra il martello e l’incudine. Quale ristorante scegliere tra l’italiano,
il giapponese, il cinese e l’internazionale? Le Coupole ha una
schiera di chef che preparano piatti espresso di pasta, grigliate
e aromatiche zuppe asiatiche. C’è un self-service per le insalate
Caesar, e pochi sapranno resistere al magnifco assortimento di

here are 201 rooms and suites and the l’Opera Suite which,
with three bedrooms, sleeps up to six in opulent luxury. The
Club Millesime on the top foor has large picture windows
and stunning views of the city and of the Mekong and Tonle Sap
rivers and is reserved for guests staying on the top three foors.
It is an exclusive club in which to dawdle over breakfast, enjoy
snacks and beverages during the day, or relax at sunset with
cocktails and delectable amuse-bouches. Other good spots to
enjoy the sunset are the Lobby Bar in the cappuccino-coloured
marble hall, and the guestrooms and suites which have city views
(rooms with river views are good for catching the dawn).
There are connecting rooms and suites for families, and the
more romantic will appreciate the light dimmers which plunge
guestrooms from foodlit to the softest of demi-tints with a mere
twist of a switch. The Prestige Suites do not have balconies but,
being on the corners of the building, they have the best views,
and they come with butler service.
The restaurants pose a delightful dilemma for gourmets. How
to choose between the Italian, the Japanese, the Chinese and the
international? In Le Coupole’s show kitchen white-hatted chefs at
live cooking stations toss out tempting pastas, grills and aromatic
soups. There is also a Caesar Salad DIY bar, and few will be able to
resist the magnifcent selection of desserts and homemade ice-
